Michigan Golf Hall of Fame Inductees

Clarence H. Wolfrom

Clarence Wolfrom, who was instrumental in the establishment of the Michigan Turfgrass Foundation, served 25 years on the Board of Directors of the Michigan and Border Cities Golf Course Superintendents Association, including four years as its president. He was a founder and President of the Michigan Turfgrass Foundation, which promotes research in turf and further education to students and those responsible for the maintenance of golf courses through field days, conferences, and the cooperative extension program. This lead to vastly improved playing conditions.

He was the Golf Course Superintendent at Maple Lane Golf Club in Sterling Heights for 53 years. Many people were able to get their careers started by working with him to learn, observe, and gain knowledge and experience in the field.
