Michigan Golf Hall of Fame Inductees
Dorothy "Dottie" Higbie A member of the Country Club of Detroit, Higbie was a member of the first Curtis Cup Team. She won the Michigan Amateur five times and the Women’s District Golf Association Championship on six occasions. In both events, she retired the permanent trophies with three successive victories. Dottie qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur ten times, reaching the quarterfinal round in 1929 and winning the qualifying medal in 1931. Elected to the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame in 1984 |
