Michigan Golf Hall of Fame Inductees
Ed Furgol Moving to Michigan in the early 1940’s Ed Furgol was a successful public links player winning the 1941 U.S. Amateur Public Links title before turning professional. He was the 1951 Michigan PGA Champion. Furgol won five tour events, along with the 1954 U.S. Open. He was named PGA Golfer of the Year and was a recipient of the Ben Hogan Award, in addition to winning the World Cup and playing on the 1955 Ryder Cup Team. Elected to the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame in 1988. |
