Michigan Golf Hall of Fame Inductees
Standish was the first outstanding Michigan golfer, having won the Michigan Amateur in 1909, 1912, and 1924, as well as being the 1924 Golf Association of Michigan District Champion. He won the Austrian Amateur in 1907 and in 1908 along with the North and South Amateur in 1909. Standish served as President of the USGA from 1952 to 1957 and founded the U.S. Public Links Championship in 1922. Elected to the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame in 1984. |
