Michigan Golf Hall of Fame Inductees

MIKE HILL

After attending hometown Jackson Community College and then the University of Arizona, Mike followed older brother (by two years) Dave to professional ranks in 1967. Three years later he took his first of three victories on the PGA Tour, the Doral Eastern Open. Hill added the San Antonio Open in 1972 and then the Ohio Kings Island Open in 1977. As well as he did on the regular tour, Mike really hit high gear on the Champions Tour which he joined in 1989. Hill won 18 times with five victories in both 1990 and 1991. Mike didn’t slow down when he reached the Super Senior age of 60 – he won 15 Georgia-Pacific Grand Champions events. Hill also won five team events including four Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf with Lee Trevino. Through 2003, Hill won more than $8 million since turning 50. Hill is a member of both the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame and the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame.
